Las Escuelas de Aviación Aeroclub de Colombia y Endeavour en Miami se han asociado y firmado un convenio con exclusividad en Colombia para el Aeroclub, el cual permitirá a nuestros alumnos y ex-alumnos obtener su licencia FAA en muy corto tiempo con el COMMERCIAL LICENSE CONVERSION PROGRAM FOR COLOMBIAN COMMERCIAL PILOTS.
STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS FOR COMMERCIAL PILOT PROGRAM
Pre-Requisites in Colombia
- Obtain Colombian Commercial Pilot License.
- Begin studying for the Instrument Rating Written Exam.
- Begin studying for the Commercial Pilot Written Exam.
- Apply to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration for verification of your foreign license. This process will ensure that you will have an FAA Private Pilot License when you initiate the program. (Please see Appendix A for further information.)
- Complete the application to attend Endeavour Flight Training’s Commercial Pilot Conversion Program. Obtain and submit proof of financial responsibility for the entire cost of the program plus living expenses for at least 6 months. This can be submitted in the form of a letter from your bank. It should have your name on it, not just a general account balance.
- Submit the required documents and non-refundable application fee to Endeavour Flight Training, Inc. (See Appendix B for a copy of the application and other necessary EFT documentation.)
- Await the receipt of your I-20 from Endeavour Flight Training, Inc.
- Make an appointment for your M-1 Visa interview at the United States Embassy.
- Obtain visa and make plans to travel to the United States to begin your studies. Your plans should include food, lodging, transportation and all other living expenses for at least 6 months. You should not arrive in the U.S. more than 30 days before the program start date listed on your I-20.
- Apply to the United States Transportation Security Administration for a background check and initial approval to begin flight training. Go to www.flightschoolcandidates.gov, obtain a login and password, select category 3 as your training limitation (less than 12,500 lbs.). The name of the type of training is “Instrument Rating” and type of aircraft is “Cessna 172SP”.
- During this process, remain in contact with Endeavour Flight Training, ensuring a smooth transition once you arrive in the United States.
- Travel to the United States.
After Arrival in the United States
- Go to the South Florida Flight Standards District Office to retrieve your FAA Private Pilot license.
- Obtain your 2nd Class FAA Medical Certificate.
- Complete your background check with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) by submitting your fingerprints to a designated police station. Await final approval.
- “Check In” with Endeavour Flight Training, Inc. Fill out contract and other paperwork. Bring your passport with M-1 visa, I-20, logbook(s), FAA private pilot license, medical certificate, and Colombian Commercial Pilot License.
- Once approved with the TSA, you may begin your training.
Rules/Procedures to Follow at Endeavour
- The student will have a personal briefing with the Chief Flight Instructor on safety procedures at the flight school. Students who knowingly place themselves, others and the property of the flight school in danger will be expelled.
- The student will attend classes Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- The student must purchase and wear school uniforms at all times while at school.
- Students who do not attend scheduled classes without prior notice will be considered in violation of their M-1 visa requirements, and are subject to the full immigration consequences thereof, including revocation of their visas.
- Students who do not have money in their accounts will not fly or attend ground school. Ongoing payment issues not promptly resolved will result in expulsion from the program.
- Students are encouraged to attend FAA and Cessna Seminars and events while enrolled at Endeavour Flight Training, Inc.
- Students are subject to all regulations set forth in the Endeavour Flight Training Part 141 Manual.
Appendix A:
Information and Application for Converting Foreign Licenses to U.S. FAA Private Pilot License
Appendix A-Foreign License Conversion Information from www.faa.gov :
If you are applying for a certificate issued on the basis of a foreign license under the provisions of:
- 14 CFR Part 61, Section 61.75
- special purpose pilot authorizations under Section 61.77
- using a pilot certificate issued under Section 61.75 to apply for a commercial pilot certificate under Section 61.123 (h)
- applying for an airline transport pilot certificate issued under Section 61.153 (d) (3)
- applying for a certificate issued on the basis of a foreign license under the provisions of 14 CFR Part 63, Sections 63.23 and 63.42
Then you must have the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) that issued those certificates verify the validity and currency of the foreign license and medical certificate or endorsement before you apply for an FAA certificate or authorization.

Foreign Student Enrollment Instructions
Endeavour Flight Training, Inc. is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students in our flight school. Our school is a vocational flight training school. Non-Immigrant aliens who wish to enroll in our school are required to have the M-1 visa. The M-1 visa can be issued for a maximum of 12 months.
Endeavour Flight Training Enrollment Procedure:
(Required for all foreign national students requesting enrollment.)
- Complete our Application for Enrollment. (All applicants must submit their applications at least 2 months before the start of their course of study.
- Please send a training security deposit $500.00 to Endeavour Flight Training
- Submit either a photocopy of your birth certificate (registration of birth) or current passport.
- Submit an official verification of financial ability to meet tuition and living expenses.
Requirements for Flight School Training:
- You must be able to read, speak and understand English. If you have any concerns regarding your English ability, please phone our school. We will be happy to assist in determining your English ability. With your application, you will need to submit either evidence of having completed at least four years of high school level (or one year of university level English classes) or a certified copy of a TOEFL. TOEFL test results must indicate a score of 500 or greater.
- You must have a minimum level of education for issuance of an M-1 visa. If you do not have at least the equivalent of 12 years of basic education, you should phone our school for an informal interview, so we can help you determine your ability to benefit from flight training.
- You must be cleared by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for flight training in the U.S. Please follow the instructions for the Alien Flight Student Program at the following web site:

- You can find more information on how to be cleared by TSA on pages 3 -5 of this document.
- You must submit an I-901 form, as required by the Department of Homeland Security’s Student Exchange and Visitors Program (SEVP), with an application fee of $200. You may pay an additional fee of $35 to expedite the process, which we recommend. You can find this form as well as detailed instructions online at: http://www.ice.gov/sevis/i901/index.htm
- After you have been cleared by TSA and your application is reviewed and accepted, you must submit a deposit of $5,000 which will be used as credit towards your flight instruction. Your deposit must be made by wire transfer or credit card.
Student Exchange and Visitors Program (SEVP) Procedures:
- On the SEVP website (http://www.ice.gov/sevis/i901/index.htm) please click on the “paper form I-901 PDF” link and print out the form and instructions.
- We recommend that you submit your application to SEVP at least 2 months before you start your flight training.
- You must arrange a United States Embassy visa appointment date immediately after getting you I-20 form. Inform Endeavour Flight Training admissions office as soon as you have an appointment date.
- You must have both your TSA clearance and the I-20 form for your interview with the American Consulate in your country.
Student Exchange and Visitors Program (SEVP) Procedures, continued:
- If you do not appear for your Visa interview, your training security deposit will not be refunded.
- Student must arrive at Endeavour Flight Training at least 10 days before the beginning date for your course of study.
International Students Checklist for Required Documentation Prior to Starting Flight Training:
- Copy of a valid Passport or birth certificate (a scanned color copy will also be needed for TSA).
- An official verification (proof of funds) that shows your financial ability to meet your tuition and living expenses, such as a bank letter or statement.
- Class III Student Pilot Medical Certificate (Please see Information below.)
- Complete TSA approval before start of flight training (Please see Information below.)
Medical Certificate
An FAA medical certificate is required to ensure that your health meets required federal regulations. Prior to starting flight training, If you have any health problems, you should obtain your medical certificate before you go any further.
Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) Registration
Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) was established in the United States to provide security in regards to the aviation industry. International students must provide proper documentation and follow a specific registration process in order for proper processing and flight training approval. Note: No flight training allowed until TSA approval.
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Procedures:
All Non-U.S. Citizens are required to complete the TSA application located at www.flightschoolcandidates.gov. After your request is acknowledged by the school, you will be asked to remit a payment of $130.00 per course/rating and then submit your fingerprints for background check. The TSA process can take up to 30 days, especially if you do not carefully complete the application. Please follow these steps to obtain your clearance from TSA:
Step 1:
1. Login to www.flightschoolcandidates.gov and make your new user name as per TSA Guidelines. You will receive a password in your email.
2. After receiving username and password change your password and login again.
3. Fill in all required information in all given forms as per guidelines on each page.
4. Fill in all information correctly and carefully to prevent delays in TSA process.
5. For full training package every candidate has to fill up three training requests as follows:
- Private Pilot (Course name, Course ID, and Course Description), Aircraft (Single Engine Land)
- Instrument Rating (Course name, Course ID, and Course Description), Aircraft (Single Engine Land)
- Muti-Engine Rating (Course name, Course ID and Course Description), Aircraft (Mulit Engine Land)
Note: In all of the training applications insert the start and end dates as given on your 1-20 form.
6. In the Training Request category, click on category 3 in each training request and upload a scanned copy of your passport.

7. Go back to main page of your application and submit each training request, if it shows error, correct the given errors as per guidelines.
Step 2:
1. After submitting your application you will receive three emails to submit your TSA fee.
2. Go to TSA website and login.
3. On main page click on each request and fill in your credit card details to pay the fee of $130.
4. Print out the payment receipt for your records.
Step 3:
1. After paying TSA’s online fee for each training request, you will receive another three emails to submit your finger prints. Note: Your fingerprints will be done here in the U.S. after you get to our school.
2. Approval for flight training will be sent via e-mail after submitting your fingerprints, which usually takes about one week.
